Obsessive Recordings was an influential record label set up, initially as a label imprint for Logic Records – the dance arm of BMG (now SONY/BMG) by Mark Shade back in 1999.

The Obsessive identity employed a simple visual metaphor — the vinyl really came alive when seen spinning on the decks.

With a back catalogue that featured artists including Circulation, Freddy Fresh, Danny Howells, Felix Da Housecat, Ian O’Brien, Chris Coco, Mix Master Morris and more Obsessive Recordings sought to redefine the world of the electronica compilation album creating innovative new concept series that included ‘Abstract Funk Theory’ and ‘Excursions’ to name but a few.
